Topic
Finance Mechanisms for Land Stewardship in Southern Europe
Date & Time
Selected Sessions:
Mar 27, 2025 10:00 AM
Description
The European Union’s Biodiversity Strategy for 2030 and more recent Nature Restoration Law both make clear that land conservation is critical to meeting global climate and biodiversity commitments and that this work must be scaled up without delay.
What is less clear is where the money for this rapid response might come from, especially for private and civic land conservation. As more people look to join the movement, the need for conservation finance solutions grows. Luckily, new opportunities and guidance are emerging nearly as quickly. Among these are developing carbon- and biodiversity-credit markets.
Join the ILCN and Eurosite in hosting an expert panel as it dives into existing conservation finance mechanisms, and the needs, challenges, and opportunities for their innovation across Southern Europe.
